The original manuscript of letters and journals of Reverend John Waterhouse are with the Methodist Missionary Society, London.

Administrative / Biographical history

Rev. John Waterhouse (1789-1842) was appointed Superintendent of Wesleyan Missions to Australasia and Polynesia in 1838. His son, Jabez Bunting Waterhouse (1821-1891), also became a Methodist minister, preaching throughout Tasmania, South Australia and New South Wales.
