The leather folder has written on the back "D. J. Stewart N.S.W.M.R. Pretoria ?? July 1900". In the folder are a metal medallion mounted on red velvet and cardboard. On the medal is the motto "Eedragt Maakt Magt" (unity is strength), Above the medallion are the metal letters "Z. A. R." (Zuid-Afrikaanse Republiek).
There is also a black ribbon...
