Administrative / Biographical history

The Hegarty brothers first began trading horses between Dunedin, New Zealand, and Calcutta in the late 1880's, before moving their business to Queensland, Australia at the turn of the century. Their shipping firm would become one of the major firms shipping horses to India from Queensland ports.
