Charles Alfred Gordon Lillingston was born in Southwold, England in 1857. He married Mabel Harriet Ogilvie, born at Yulgilbar on the Clarence River, NSW on 16 May 1866. Their daughter, Jessie Mary Grey Lillingston married Kenneth Whistler Street. The portrait of Mabel Lillingston passed to their son Roger, whose family presented it to the Mitchell...
