Oswald Mingay was born at Peak Hill, NSW, in 1895. He was educated at Lithgow District School and then joined the Post-Master General's Department where he was employed, 1908-1922; he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in 1915 and served on the Western Front. He was married in 1920 to Winifred Esdon (d.1971) with whom he had a son, Colin....
