Administrative / Biographical history
J. C. Crawford, 1817-1889, came to Sydney in the Coromandel in 1838. He went to New Zealand in 1839, and finally settled there in 1846. Crawford was geologist for the Wellington Provincial Government and made a number of explorations in New Zealand
