Administrative / Biographical history

Biologist Knowles Kerry first went to Macquarie Island on a round trip in 1966, returning to summer there in 1967/68 and wintering in 1970. He was at Mawson in 1971/72, and from there spent the next eight summers at Macquarie Island. In 1980/81 he was the leader for the marine science voyage on the Nella Dan.
