Objects - 16.1 x 14.3. x 2.7 cm. frame ; (loop, 1.2 cm.) - 1 white on blue jasper ware medallion, stored in deeply set oval wooden frame with glass front, gilt inner border, and outer edges of frame painted gold. A metal loop is affixed to the centre back of frame to assist in hanging.

Based on a portrait of Sir Joseph Banks that was modelled by John Flaxman Jnr. between 1775-1779, it is difficult to assign a specific date to the medallion as several issues were made over a period of time.
The portrait has an oblique crack from the eye to the back.
Attributed to Josiah Wedgwood.
