Sub-par soloists, vapid singing by the choral sopranos, and a choppy, notably unexpressive account of the famous 'Zion hort' chorale allow us to write off the Bach cantata without a backward glance. (Mazel tov to the wonderful solo oboe in 'Mein Freund ist mein', though. The playing is delightful.) But the Sacred Service is another story altogether...
