Virgin Net, the internet access provider, said it had issued the first writ in the UK to prevent unwanted electronic mail. It is suing Adrian Paris, a Surrey businessman, for damages for breach of contract and trespass after alleging he sent out more than a quarter of a million junk e-mails on behalf of ProPhoto UK using a Virgin Net account.
