The price index of articles produced by manufacturing industries rose 1.9% in the second quarter from the first quarter, the Bureau of Statistics said. Prices also rose 7.3% from a year ago, the highest annual increase since the third quarter of 1998, according to Tony Meer, a senior economist at Deutsche Bank.
