Loss-of-function variants in
ANGPTL3
were associated with lower plasma levels of lipids and lower rates of coronary disease. A monoclonal antibody against ANGPTL3 reduced the atherosclerotic lesion area in mice and reduced levels of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol in human volunteers.
