“Illustrated in Painted Panorama, p.69, cat no.32 was one of four pictures purchased by J.H Challis, 25-15 Feb. 1854 for 6 guineas each. Three replicate the 1852-53 commissions for Lloyd. Challis sold his pictures to H.S. Russell and they were in turn acquired by Edward Hill of Sydney at the sale of Russell’s effects on 25th July 1867, see Martens...
