William Ambrose Cull, an apprentice coachbuilder of Hamilton, Victoria was born in Normanby, Victoria and enlisted in Melbourne aged 20 on 7 May 1915. He embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT A14 Euripides, 10 May 1915 and served with 22nd and 23rd Battalions, 6th Infantry Brigade.
