Ernest Henry Farrar (1879-1952), trade unionist and parliamentarian, was born at Barnsley, Yorkshire, son of Henry and Mary Farrar. He came to Australia as an infant and was educated at Granville and Petersham public schools before becoming a shearer and later a saddler.
