General note
Text of A 2908 / vol. 1 and vol. 2 is nearly alike. The order of letters dated 1 Sept 1795 and 29 Jan 1807 is reversed in vol. 1 (29 Jan 1807 appearing first). In vol. 1, the letter dated 1 Sept 1795 includes some additional remarks about Governor Bligh and about William and James Macarthur at the end of the letter. A letter from John Macarthur to...

"I am of the opinion that this volume consists of copies from the copies made by Sir Edward Macarthur which are to be found in a companion volume [A 2908 / vol. 1]. The handwriting in this volume appears to be that of [Mrs?] James Macarthur." -- M. F. [Monica Flower], 24.3.50" -- note in pencil inside front cover. The word "Mrs" is indistinct.
