Winifred Hatton was born in Sydney in 1876, her parents being Thomas Allwright Dibbs and Tryphena Gaden. T.A. Dibbs had a career in the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney Limited, and built a house called Graythwaite on the North Shore. Dibbs had eight children, seven of them girls; the solitary boy, Bertram, was educated in Europe, and returned...
