Maurice Melvaine, born 1920, son of Victor R. Melvaine who mined land for gold at Mt. Mutton near Uralla, N.S.W. until the 1950s. After serving in the Australian army and being wounded in Papua New Guinea in 1945, Maurice Melvaine moved to Sydney, to work in the motor industry. He successfully lobbied for the mining site and buildings at Mt. Mutton...
