Anglican clergyman, chaplain, missionary and farmer, was born on 24 June 1765 at Farsley, Yorkshire, England. In 1793 he accepted the appointment as assistant to the chaplain of New South Wales where he was stationed at Parramatta. In 1802 he received a land grand for 201 acres and purchased a further 239 from other settlers and became an important...
