Administrative / Biographical history

George Johnston came to New South Wales with the Marine detachment in the First Fleet. In 1808 he arrested Governor Bligh and assumed the government of the colony. He was court-martialled in England, cashiered and returned to settle on his farm at Annandale, N.S.W. where he died
