Kathleen Monypenny was born in Hay, NSW in 1894. She spent most of her working life in the Mitchell Library. She wrote children's books and poetry as well as articles for publication, including book reviews. She used various pen names in her journalism such as Margaret Silver, M. K. and K. P. as well as her own name.
