General note
The photograph was possibly taken from the roof of 'Macquarie Chambers', 183 Macquarie Street Sydney, as prior to presentation to the Mitchell Library it was hanging in the entrance hall of that building.
The 'Macquarie Chambers' were built in 1904. The view shows the site of the Mitchell Library on which work was commenced in 1906.
