Henry Gillett (1801-1880), a shipwright by trade, was born in Cork, Ireland and arrived in Sydney in 1828. He settled at Kissing Point on the Parramatta River and commenced shipbuilding. Among the ships he built was the schooner 'Susan'. In 1836 he accompanied the 'Susan' on a voyage to the Clarence River to obtain a cargo of cedar. In 1841 Gillett...
