Eugene Dominique Nicolle, refrigeration engineer and businessman, was born in Rouen France and arrived in Australia in 1853. By 1855, Nicolle had established practice as an engineer in both Sydney and New Zealand. In 1861, Nicolle and Richard Dawson patented an ice-making machine designed by Nicolle. This machine was to form the basis of a business...
