Mann, Capt. Gother Kerr (1809-1899) surveyor, engineer and army officer arrived in Australia in 1836. In 1838 he married Mary Hely and set up practice as an engineer. After being listed as insolvent in 1844 he found employment at the Department of Royal Engineers and was appointed captain and commandant of the first Volunteer Artillery Corps raised...
