"Edward Eagar photo 1863, born 1785 died 1869, came to NSW 1810, left 1821, his son Geoffrey was Treasurer for N.S.W. 1868. Samuel Leigh spent his first night ashore at E.E's. home on 10 Aug. 1815 in O'Connell St. The next day they went to see Macquarie who requested Mr Eagar to show the 1st Methodist clergyman around the colony, which he did." --...
