Flora MacDonald, Jacobite, was born at Milton on South Uist but raised by the Clanranald family and then by Lady Margaret MacDonald of Skye. Flora is renowned for smuggling Prince Charles Edward Stewart from the Outer Hebrides after the defeat of the Jacobite Uprising at the Battle of Culloden by dressing him as "Betty Burke" an Irish maidservant....
