The Idea of Perfection is Kate Grenville's fifth novel published in Australia (2000). It was short-listed for the Kibble Award and won the Orange Prize (Britain's richest literary prize), in 2001. It was subsequently published in the US, Canada and India and in translation in Danish and Dutch. A film of the novel is in post-production.
