Unsigned. Dated and titled as above on back and along upper edge of mount. These inscriptions are not in the artists hand when compared to his inscriptions in Voyage of the H.M.S. Britomart...(Reference : PXC 279)

Attributed to Stanley after comparison with his other works (Reference : albums at PXC 279-281).
Date note
The date 1838 appears to be incorrect. The view fits the description of the entrance to the village of Oliliet which Stanley visited in March 1839 (Reference: his description in Stokes, J.L. - Discoveries in Australia...London, Boone, 1846, volume 1, p.458)
