Harold (Hal) Missingham (1906-1994), an artist, photographer, gallery director, teacher, and author, was born in Claremont, W.A., on 8 December 1906. He was educated at a number of schools in Perth leaving school in 1920, not long after the death of his father. While apprenticed as a process engraver to J.
