Administrative / Biographical history

Marjorie 'Mahdi' McCrae (1905-1990), painter, cartoonist and commercial artist was the daughter of poet Hugh McCrae. She was taught to draw by her father's great friend, Norman Lindsay. She drew cartoons and caricatures for periodicals such as Home, and The Bulletin, illustrated books and painted watercolours for exhibition.
