Gwen Friend (b. 1923), sister of Donald Friend, artist, was a partner with Fifi Banvard in the theatrical company Fifi Banvard Productions. Fifi Banvard was a popular stage and radio actor and was the first woman to be an actor/manager in the Australian theatre.
