Born in 1894, Dorothy Lawry became an ardent bushwalker and naturalist in 1920, , joining the Sydney Bushwalkers in 1929. In 1932 she became closely associated with the movement to preserve the Blue Gum Forest in the Grose Gorge near Blackheath, resulting in a gift of forty acres to the New South Wales Lands Department as a reserve, and the format...
