On New Year’s Eve 2019 a massive bushfire tore through the Conjola area on the South Coast of New South Wales, destroying 89 homes and killing three people. These interviews with the Condie family provide a first-hand account of the loss of their family home in Conjola Park on 31 December 2019.

Katrina Condie was born in Nowra. She grew up in Ulladulla, and completed a journalism cadetship at Milton-Ulladulla Times newspaper. In 1995 she married Andrew Condie and they built a home at Conjola Park, on the NSW south coast, and are now the parents of two daughters, Sienna and Grace.
