The Aboriginal Nangar or Yangar was known to white Australians as "King Billy" or Jimmy Clements. He said he was about 80 in 1927 and had come from the Mount Hope Ranges. Newspapers said he represented Aboriginal peoples at the opening of Parliament in 1927 although he was probably only there because he was in the Canberra area at the time. He live...
