David Hope, of Messrs Fleming and Hope, brokers of Glasgow, Scotland, and Mary Reibey were first cousins. Mary Reibey was born Molly Haydock in England in 1777. David Hope was born in 1786. He was five years old when Molly was sentenced and transported to Botany Bay for seven years for stealing a horse. She arrived in Australia in 1792. Little is...
