David Burn (1798-1875) first arrived in Hobart in 1826. He made several visits to Scotland and England before settling at 'Rotherwood' on the River Ouse. In 1842 he accompanied Sir John and Lady Franklin on their visit to the west coast of Tasmania. In the 1840s he was beset by financial difficulties and migrated to Auckland in 1847 where he worke...
