Sketchbooks contain pen, ink, and watercolour drawings primarily of landscapes, portraits, and flora and fauna by members of the Le Souef family including Una and her mother Caroline. Some of the landscape drawings are distinctively Australian, including the Blue Mountains and Sydney Harbour sketches. The sketchbooks also contain notes and verse.
