The female in this portrait wears a a day dress of plain white cotton or silk with frogging (military detailing) across bodice, cap sleeves, and high waisted under bustline. On her head is an indoor cap with ribbons and she has a gold chain, fob chain, and cravat at neckline. A gold brooch fastens the collar that is edged in broderie anglaise.
