Administrative / Biographical history

The Bald Faced Stag Hotel was established in the 1830s by Charles Hearn (1816-1890) who was the proprietor until his death, at which time it was inherited by A. Ernest Hearn (Mayor of Leichhardt). The hotel was owned by the Hearn family continuously until it was leased by Tooheys and sold to them ca. 1970s -- information from donor, ML 1623/88
