John Andrew Bonar, born in Edinburgh in 1835, son of Andrew Bonar, first travelled to Australia in 1857. His father was already in Australia working for the Australian Land Company. Bonar returned to England at the end of 1858. He came back to Australia in 1860 and in 1862 married the daughter of Ralph Edward Godschall Johnson, clerk to the Queensl...
