Wadim (Bill) Jegorow, AM, MBE, social worker and lawyer, was born in Vilna, Poland on 14 May 1934, of Russian parents. During World War II he lived with his family in displaced workers' camps, including Ravensburg Workers' Camp, Germany. The family arrived in Australia in 1951.
