General note
The Roundhouse is the oldest standing building in Western Australia. It was erected 1831 before convict labour. On Arthurs Head "the tunnel was excavated by the Fremantle Whaling Co. in 1837 to facilitate the transport of whale oil and merchandise between Bathers Bay and Fremantle".
